The Institute Vienna Circle (IVC) is part of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education. The Institute Vienna Circle stands in the tradition of the original “Vienna Circle”. Accordingly, the IVC supports philosophical research projects addressing questions concerning the sciences in a critical and constructive manner. The integration of different areas of research on the sciences (philosophy, history, sociology) is also a central concern. Moreover, the IVC is dedicated to the documentation, critical reconstruction and further development of Logical Empiricism. The IVC cooperates closely with the Department of Philosophy (especially with the division Philosophy of Science) and with the “Vienna Circle Society”.  Several research projects, a book series, a year book and important edition projects are based at the IVC.
