VALEP (Virtual Archive of Logical Empiricism)
The Institute Vienna Circle’s virtual archive VALEP (Virtual Archive of Logical Empiricism), launched in 2021, currently contains over 200,000 pages of archival material and nearly 14,600 documents (individual manuscripts, letters, articles, books, photographs, etc.) as well as electronic editions such as the edition of Rudolf Carnap’s diaries. VALEP is growing rapidly and by October 2024 has been subsidized with approximately 243,000 Euros (including funds from the Vienna Circle Society and from the FWF projects P31716, P34887, PUD 31, PUD 39).

Getting access
If you would like access to the internal material in VALEP, please send an email with the subject line “VALEP account request” to valep-admin.ivc@univie.ac.at. The body of the email should describe the purpose for which you wish to use VALEP. It is also required that you are either a member or associate of the IVC, or affiliated with a research institution that is affiliated or shares research interests with the IVC. In the latter case, your email address should be provided by your research institution. We will evaluate each request and reserve the right to decline any request.
